FAQ
Q1
How many Hanshow tags in Australia?
A1

20 million ESL are managed on our Saas platform in Australia.

Q2
Do ESLs require external power?
A2

No. Each ESL is powered by an internal battery, so no external wiring or power connection is required.

Q3
What is the battery life?
A3

Up to 10 years, based on typical usage conditions (e.g. two price updates per day and 30 minutes of LED flashing). ESL has passed battery stress testing to ensure long-term reliability.

Q4
What communication method is used? Will it interfere with in-store Wi-Fi?
A4

ESLs use a low-frequency narrowband wireless communication protocol, which is completely separate from standard in-store Wi-Fi networks (which operate on broadband frequencies such as 2.4GHz or 5GHz).

This means:

  • No interference with your existing Wi-Fi

  • Stable and reliable data transmission

  • No impact on store internet performance

Q5
How long does it take to update prices?
A5

Single label: typically, within 30 seconds Full store update (e.g. ~10,000 labels): approximately 30–60 minutes

Updates can also be scheduled or triggered instantly from the system.

Q6
What is an AP and Why is it required?
A6

An AP (Access Point) is a dedicated ESL control device installed in-store.

  • It connects via PoE (Power over Ethernet)

  • Requires an internet connection to sync data

  • Communicates directly with ESL tags

Importantly, the AP is not part of your store’s general network usage—it does not support activities like web browsing or video streaming. Its sole function is to manage ESL communication.
